2020 Prayer Walking Erie Ports of Entry:
Reconnecting heaven and earth with clear vision and strong voice.
HEADWATERS PARK – November 2, 2019
We kicked off our 2020 (Hebraic year 5780) prayers for Erie ports of entry with a time of prayer at Headwaters Park. The park was built around the spring that feeds Mill Creek and Four Mile Creek. It is located at 1927 Wager Road Erie, just off I-90 and was established by the Erie County Conservation District (ECCD) in 2002. Praise God for this answer to God’s dominion mandate (Genesis 1:28).
The beginning of a thing is important, especially the beginning of main streams that feed a large body of water. As the headwaters of two major streams running into the Lake Erie Watershed, from an International Divide, it is a significant location. One of the ECCD employees, a faithful Christian man named Leroy Gross, tended the park from its dedication until his retirement in 2006. Leroy and his wife Luetta weren’t able to walk the trail with us but prayed along with us from their home. The site was used for Erie’s Lighted Pumpkin Walk from 2012 to 2017, and was tagged by the Erie Times News as Erie’s Halloween Home.

Genesis 28:10-17 Jacob recognized the holy ground he was on when he saw angels ascending and descending a ladder and the Lord stood at the top of it. He received the Word of the Lord and set up an altar naming the place Beth-El or House of God. His descendants returned many times to tend this place of revelation; reestablishing and reconnecting themselves and their families with the presence of God. However, left untended for hundreds of years, this place was later known as Beth-Aven or House of Vanity/Idolatry. It was spoken of in mockery by Hosea as the place where glory has departed (Hosea 10:5,8).
2 Kings 2:19-22 NIV – The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look. Our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So, they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the lord says: I have healed this water, never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.” And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.
- We are here as new bowls, as born-again believers with the salt of the spoken Word of God that changes things.
- We pray at this spring of water and repent for our own sins and the sins of the city, releasing forgiveness and blessing over the land.
- We pray in the spirit and declare words of kindness over the spring and sprinkle salt into it.
- We declare that Millcreek spring is pure and clean and there will no longer be sickness, disease in Erie and Erie County. Prosperity will arise and homes and families will be restored. We declare unity among the body of Christ and a move of God will break out.
Numbers 21:16-17 AMP – “The well of which the Lord had said to Moses, Assemble the people together and I will give them water. Then Israel sang this song, Spring up, O well! Let all sing to it.” John 7:38-39 AMP – “He who believes in Me as the Scripture has said, from his innermost being shall flow springs and rivers of living water. He was speaking here of the Spirit.”
- Let the sounds of praise flow free over the waters! We sang “There’s a River of Life flowing out of me.”
- May words of kindness which are meant to lead people to repentance (Romans 2:4) flow abundantly over the waters! “Thy Loving-kindness is better than life.”
- Father we re-dedicate this headwater to You and ask that You remember Erie with Your kindness (Nehemiah 13:31).
On earth as it is in Heaven!

OVER LAND TRANSPORTATION / HIGHWAYS – January 11, 2020
Since the State police are tasked with patrolling our major highways and safeguarding the people, we prayed at the State Police Barracks in Lawrence Park. We also prayed for PennDOT who is tasked with maintaining the physical structures necessary for that safety. We pray protection over the police, their families, the innocent victims and the unlawful. The reason we include the unlawful is to provide a covering that keeps them from harming others and themselves. It is a spiritual battle we are fighting and not people who are the enemy.
We call in those who have lost their way from God. We are declaring and preparing a highway for them to enter on. Those who have been trapped by drugs, sex, hopelessness, despair, delusion or any other trap the enemy has set. We use the divine power and authority; God has granted us in Jesus. “We do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 We declare and are in agreement that the mountains of greed, love of money, self-interest, the inability to empathizes or relate to people, lust and spiritual blindness is now bound. These mountains are now to become level ground for the highway of God and His Kingdom. We call in God’s people to take their place on the highways and byways. Open our eyes to see our place and view our God given gifts with faith to walk out our destinies.

ERIE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – February 1, 2020
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission is to safeguard the American people, our homeland, and our values.
The Erie Regional Airport Authority (EAA) is responsible for all things related to the airport facilities needed for safe air travel; buildings, runways, leasing’s, and financing, etc.
One is tasked with safeguarding the people and the other with maintaining the physical structures necessary for that safety.
Prayer for Department of Homeland Security:
Protection over DHS workers, their families, the innocent victims and the unlawful. The reason we include the unlawful is to provide a covering that keeps them from harming others and themselves. It is a spiritual battle we are fighting and not people who are the enemy.
Proverbs 28:2 When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers, but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.
The airport and homeland security needs discernment to know what is a real threat and not follow the voice of distraction.
Prayer for Erie Airport Authority:
It is no coincidence that we are scheduled to pray at the airport today. The EAA came under fire this week for removing the Erie Aviators Memorial Wall of Fame. ETN article 1/26/20, “Protest – a measure of moral compass.” Update – The memorial mural has been reinstated.
Proverbs 4:23 “Keep and guard your hearts with all vigilance and, above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”
Jeremiah 31:33 “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people.”
Father, we pray for the DHS and the EAA’s moral compass be set on You and Your ways. That Erie values what You value. We ask that Your character be our culture.
Matthew 12:33-34 “Either make the tree sound and its fruit sound, or make the tree rotten and its fruit rotten; for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit…. for out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.”
We pray for protection, right equipment, finances, diligence, that DHS and EAA actions would always be a reflection of Your character in our culture.

Matthew 22:39 You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
It’s OK to love Erie.
If we don’t love our self as Jesus loves us, how can we love our neighbor? If we don’t love our city, as Jesus loves us, how can we love our country?
We call in those who have lost their way from God. We are declaring and preparing a secure way for them to enter. Those who have been trapped by drugs, sex, hopelessness, despair, delusion to terrorism or any other trap the enemy has set. We use the divine power and authority; God has granted us in Jesus We declare and are in agreement that the mountains of greed, love of money, self-interest, the inability to empathizes or relate to people, lust and spiritual blindness is now bound. Thank You Lord for this encouraging banner hanging next to the airport.
And thank You Lord for direct flights from Erie to Dulles Airport in D.C.!

Erie Stone / Fort Presque Isle site – March 7, 2020
Historical documents tell of the British Fort here at Presque Isle and the surrounding land known as the lower east side, as the site of brutal blood-shed during Pontiac’s War of 1763. A war that was fueled by a cunning political and false religious spirit. It is also a site of even greater bloodshed when the Seneca wiped out the Erie Indian Nation during their war sparked by vengeance 100 years earlier. Scripture tells us that bloodshed defiles land (Habakkuk 2:8). It is no coincidence that generational poverty, sustained by a false religious and political spirit has made its way into the area. At the beginning of this new decade, it’s time to push back another layer of darkness, and claim, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth (in the East Bayfront area) as it is in heaven”!

REPENTANCE:
Acts 4:24-28 “O Sovereign Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything that is in them, 25 who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David, Your servant, said, ‘Why did the nations become arrogant and rage, And the peoples devise futile things? ‘The kings of the earth took their stand [to attack], And the rulers were assembled TOGETHER AGAINST the Lord and against His Anointed.’
Father, we repent on behalf of the people who shed their brother’s blood on this land. Native American’s against each other and British and Native American against each other. Forgive us Lord for devising futile plans against You and Your purposes. Today we fill this heavenly portal with praise to Jehovah and pray for release of the full redemption of Your purpose here.
RESTORATION:
Acts 4:29-30 29 And now, Lord, observe their threats [take them into account] and grant that Your bond-servants may declare Your message [of salvation] with great confidence, 30 while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders (attesting miracles) take place through the name [and the authority and power] of Your holy Servant and Son Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.”
We come today in the authority and power of the name of Jesus, and declare boldly that the good news of the gospel of Christ usurp and unseat any anti-Christ spirit. Extend Your hand to heal, with signs and wonders. We want to be a part of this move of Holy Spirit!
Habakkuk 2:2,8 Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write the vision and engrave it plainly on so that the one who reads it will run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time. It hurries toward the goal; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait for it, because it will certainly come; it will not delay… “Because you [king of Babylon] have looted many nations, all peoples who are left will loot you— Because of human bloodshed and for the violence done to the land, To the city and all its inhabitants.”
Father, we come to plunder the plunderer because of violence done to the earth, to this city and all the people who live here. There is unity in this city among business men, families, educators, government officials, clergy, media, and others to inquire of the Lord for healing and restored wholeness.
II Chronicles 7:14 “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land (the word land here is translated dirt).”
Isaiah 58:12 “Those from among you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of streets to dwell in.”
Your people are praying, hear our cry to You Lord. We are called to pray for this land and trust in the authority of Your Name to gain keys for its release. Make us a people who will build up the wall and stand in the gap before You on behalf of the land. We pray for the agencies, non-profits, churches, others, and volunteers who are committed to helping restore this area.
RECONCILIATION:
I Corinthians 2:9-10 “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”—the things God has prepared for those who love him- these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.”
Colossians 1:27 “To whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of glory.”
ServErie’s stated vision is to restore this community by connecting people to needed resources. As they do the work, we pray Heavenly Father would connect these “helpers”, both personally and corporately with all the resources they need physically and spiritually. Give Your servants the insight to seal the door to wickedness and release God’s redemptive blessing over the land.
John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans.
Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless & protector of widows is God almighty.
Declared “There’s No God like JEHOVAH over Erie!

Prayer Call – April 4, 2020
Because of the Covid-19 social distancing, this month’s prayer walk, and Passover prayer turned into a prayer call. We are thankful and blessed to be one of many prayer groups who have found creative ways to continue to lift up the name of Jesus and bring concerns of people during this divine pause. Judges 20:16 “Among all these were 700 chosen left-handed men; every one could sling stones at a hair and not miss.” We are leveraging this season and calling out to the Father as God’s left-handed spiritual warfare attack team (S.W.A.T.)!
We invite you to read through the prayer points and declarations, and join us in bending to the heart of God for our community.

We pray for divine visitation for families at home. God said, “He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents” (Malachi 4:6). Hedge of protection around those children in dysfunctional situations at home. May they hear the gospel and call to God. May Mom/Dad/Grandparents turn to God and find healing. We speak PEACE to homes, that this time would be used for good. May children not fall behind in their learning but advance. We ask for a renewed appreciation for teachers and day care workers.
We pray all student (Seniors and athletes in particular), would know God hasn’t forgotten them. They would see opportunity and reject self-pity or anger. Bless them with community vision, make them world thinkers with the anointing, because of the change this spring, to find the path to Kingdom thinking. “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Holy Spirit rain on them and reign in them with new insights.
We repent and ask for redemption for bloodshed and lives damaged by the taking of innocent life. May the news of death tolls from Covid-19, have an impact. No more abortion; multiply the Abby Johnson stories. We bind the love of money behind the industry and ask for generosity and no hardening of hearts. We redeem every life that was taken and every life that was affected by the abortions in our land. We claim souls for every life and release God’s redeeming love to restore all that was stolen.
“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it” (Isaiah 2:2).
We declare “silence” to the voices of descent against our government, and ask protection on governmental officials. We pray witty inventions and good words will reach nations. “As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are this day” (Genesis 50:20). Oh Lord, do what You love to do and change evil to good; no more wedges that divide.
You surround our country with Mercy and Comfort. Ships on east and west coasts.
Grace for Christians to carry the light of Christ with mercy, forgiveness and humility to the front-line workers. To health care workers, first responders, delivery workers, truckers and all who are in harms way. “You Lord are a hiding place for me; preserve me from trouble, surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Shelah” (Psalm 32:7).
(Agreement with Glory of Zion prayer April 7) We decree the dark spirit of Covid-19 is letting go, withering and dying. We ask for new strength, a new spirit will rise up. We will stay the course. We release our voice and with our words, create an atmosphere to cause evil spirits to back away. We decree new boundaries this week, and new alignment with generations.
Prayer Parade – May 2, 2020
After taking communion together and praying we lined up our cars and set out to bless Erie hospitals. We bring the blessing of Psalm 91:1-7, from the Message.
You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.

Isaiah 52:15 NIV He will sprinkle (His Blood) on many nations (rs – releasing repentance, purification and revival) and kings will shut their mouth because of him (rs – as they see Jesus this will release conviction and egos to fall to the ground in worship of the King of kings and Lord of lords). For what they were not told (rs – lack of understanding and wisdom) they will see (gaining understanding and wisdom) and what they have not heard (from the unhearing ears) they will understand (rs – God’s words will penetrate their hearts and minds).

Prayer Walk across from Police Station – Perry Square – June 6, 2020
What a time we live in and gracious God we serve! It is by divine appointment we were called to prayer walk, Saturday, June 6, from 9-10 AM. We gathered at the west end of Perry Square, across from the Police Dept.
Malachi 4:5-6 holds a key to the portal we addressed. A spirit of anarchy was unleashed in our city last week at the riot downtown and has not gone unnoticed. The “tongues” of fire released at Pentecost taught us our words have power! Power to seed the atmosphere with the fruit of the spirit and power to push back the darkness.
“See I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse.”

We pray for healing and restoration of relationships. That fathers/mothers/children, young and old, would turn their hearts to God and their fellow man. That God would remove the curse on the land. We pray to close the opening which allowed anarchy in our city. We repent and break any curses in our city. We pray fathers/mothers would not be influenced by the love of money, but would turn their hearts to God and build His Kingdom. We pray hearts be restored. We ask for the removal of trauma and injury of any past injustices committed, even back to the native nations and up through today.
I had this dream about Erie two nights ago (before the riot) and felt like sharing with you. As you are on the ground, you can pray about it, if God leads you. In my dream I saw riots and violence happening in Erie. There were dead bodies of cops lying on the streets. There was snow around everywhere but it was muddy. It wasn’t pure white. God is saying about the increase in lawlessness in Erie. This behavior is according to flesh. As a result of this there is a lot of trauma on the land itself. If God shows something else regarding this dream, I will let you know.
It has been my prayer that Holy spirit would convict the hearts of the people of City of Erie and people would turn to Jesus. We need Holy spirit to hover over the city.
Thanking God for intervening on behalf of our city and preventing loss of any lives during the riot. Declaring Erie belongs to Jesus and for God’s justice to be established based on finished work of the cross. Repenting for the times church has not given room for Holy spirit to move and do what only He can do. Father God, we need the outpouring of your spirit to transform our city. Your Kingdom come; your will be done in Erie as it is in Heaven.
Galatians 5: 14-26 “For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself. If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So, I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”
Declaring Erie will walk by Holy spirit’s leading and experience the freedom for which Jesus has already paid the price. Father God, heal our land by bringing revival to hearts of the people who live in this City. Jesus, we plead your blood over Erie and welcome you to be the Lord of city of Erie. King of Glory come.
We pray for Erie and the restoration of the economy. We appeal to heaven and ask Father God to do what only You can do. For new economic wells to be created and Kingdom portals opened.
Lord, we appeal to Heaven for:
- Favor for our city with CEO’s, government leaders, and kings.
- Firms that produce goods for the nations and provide new jobs for our people.
- Technology to establish new markets, energy sources, and efficient solutions to grow as a population.
- Laws and courts that measure with justice and the freedom of our land’s constitution.
- Civil servants that encourage entrepreneurs and a media know for wisdom and truth.
- Natural resources released, harvested, sold, and reproduced.
- Education, books, and universities that develop mind molders who influence the influential.
- Capital to build small businesses that provide services, arts and culture attracting both young and old.
- Medical community known for integrity and excellence.
- Repentance from poverty, small thinking, and envy.
- Courage to recognize opportunities and make wealth. Abundance to bless the world and the prudence to save and invest.
- Revelation to pass on wealth to our children’s children …
- So, we declare, that when the righteous prosper, the city rejoices! Hallelujah!

Prayer Walk – U.S. Coast Guard Station- August 1, 2020
The old photo is of the station as seen from the south pier of the channel.
It was a beautiful day on the water. We stood between the bay and the lake soaked in sunshine with high spirits and a reverent attitude (Psalm 2:11). Thanking God that He called us to live in such a beautiful place and time (Acts 17:26). Believing that God hears and answers our supplications for our community we prayed. The reader is invited to exercise their faith in Jesus Christ and pray along with these prayers and declarations.
Our time began singing the song, This Is How We Fight Our Battles and taking communion.
Not wanting to disturb the fishermen who had set up near the lighthouse, we gathered farther down the pier.
Lighthouses: many are no longer needed or functional. This represents two things, (1) some have let their flames go out and need reignited and (2) advanced technology has made some lighthouses obsolete. In this new era, we see God moving in new ways and even through new vessels. We press into that which is anointed for this season. We decree, we do arise and we shine, for Your light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us (Isaiah 60:1) to do great exploits in Jesus’ name in the Erie area!

Business: We thank you God for the fresh water – a precious resource for our county and state. We are thankful for the cleansing of the land and waters along the bay and lake after years of pollution from industry. As a prophetic act we threw a branch into the water to symbolize the purity (Exodus 15:23-26).
Asking forgiveness for business leaders who have polluted the water and land and have mistreated employees as well as for disgruntled, complaining employees. We declare redemption for the polluting businesses and call for good business to be brought back to this area and new opportunities for people here. Joy for people’s work matching talents and abilities with workers.
Government: We speak protection, wisdom and courage for the Government of Erie as well as the President and federal representatives and staff. We ask for the deep state individuals who are in every agency like roots and tentacles, to be dried up and removed! For the President to remove evil and unwise counselors from his inner circle, for clarity for those advising him and the nation especially in the coronavirus situation. For protection against the enemy, and wisdom for the press team at the White House especially Kayleigh McEnany
Communications and media: We silence the voice of lies and ask that hidden agendas be revealed. That God would redeem those who could be redeemed and remove those who are using their watchman anointing to reproduce lies. We ask that God scatter His enemies as God’s people step up and take their place and speak God’s truth. As a prophetic act; We placed our phones down, in a circle and prayed for a fortification of Gods heavenly hosts over every cabinet member and department surrounding the president and his staff.
Just as the rod of Moses became a snake and swallowed up the snakes of the Egyptians, so are those who walk in kingly authority to the dorks of darkness. We are the head, not the tail.
Religion: Repented for biological fathers and mothers and city “fathers and mothers” who turned away from God and did not look after the welfare of the next generation. Repented for children not turning to God but to rebellion instead. As those with a father’s/mother’s heart for the region, we ask forgiveness for not turning to God as the Bible warns in Malachi 4:5-6. It is time, lift the curse on our land. We declare mature prophetic and apostolic voices here to build God’s house. Forgive us Lord for building our own “paneled houses” while neglecting your house (Haggai 1:4). We call fathers and mothers in the Kingdom to arise to speak Blessings over the next generation. To speak what Heaven has destined for them. God’s voice to be heard in the city through them. Prayed Holy spirit would touch every heart in the city of Erie. God’s kingdom come to City of Erie as it is in Heaven!
Next Generation: We call the old warriors to pick up the war mantel and come back to active duty. Like Caleb, who took the mountain in the promise land. It’s time to come out of retirement and release their voice of wisdom of God for future generations. We repent of those times we weren’t a witness to You because of fear of rejection. Lord, it’s good to be older because we don’t think about being cool! Father, we desire to be reignited and on fire for You! Psalm 71:18 – “Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.”
Family/Education: Broke any false words spoken over parents through-out their lives that did not line up with Kingdom of God. Removed the trauma and restored what was stolen so parents could be who God created them to be. Prayed for the children who are not being cared for at home during the shutdown, Lord turn the hearts of moms and dads to their children – to have the desire and stamina to love and protect the children. Prayed for social workers and teachers, for protection from sickness and violence. That there be no fear returning to school, but staff would be able to be effective in restoring normalcy and security for the children. Praying for pure hearts, wisdom and courage for the staff.
Covid-19: Hear our cry, Oh Lord, hear our repentant hearts and lift the curse of this virus. For the neighborhoods in Erie where the virus is spiking; we ask for people and families to demonstrate wisdom.
We proclaim, “God is our Way Maker, Promise Keeper and Light in the darkness!”

Prayer Walk – Perry Square – Sept & Oct 2020
PRAYER for DISCERNMENT – OCTOBER 3, 9-10AM, IN PERRY SQUARE!
This is the last Saturday prayer walk before the election. We all know how crucial our prayers are especially at this time in our nation’s history. Here is what the Lord has highlighted for this prayer time, and beyond.
My friend Bafi Selvaraj had a dream in which she saw God giving different regions special gifts. Erie was given the gift of discernment. I say Hallelujah because Erie-ites certainly can use discernment as we go to the polls for the presidential election next month.
Psalm 119:66 (NASB) Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. – The word discernment in this passage is the same word used for “taste”. Each of the bodies five senses can be refined and developed.
Colossians 1:9-10 (Living Bible) So ever since we first heard about you, we have kept on praying and asking God to help you understand what he wants you to do; asking him to make you wise about spiritual things; and asking that the way you live will always please the Lord and honor him, so that you will always be doing good, kind things for others, while all the time you are learning to know God better and better.
Devotion from Experiencing God from I Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Blackaby writes; “Sadly, many Christians today do not exercise their minds to be of service to God. They allow others to do their spiritual thinking for them. If they can find their theology from a book, they will not bother to study God’s Word themselves. If a speaker makes an authoritative statement, they readily accept it without verifying whether it is biblical. Paul urged Christians to strive for maturity in their thinking (I Cor 14:20). He had not allowed others to do his thinking for him. When you became a Christian, God renewed your mind (Romans 12:2). Be certain to use your mind in a way that brings glory to God.”
Prayer: Father, we ask you to teach the people of the Erie community to use the gift of discernment for we declare we believe You and Your ways. Help us to understand your path for us especially during the upcoming national elections. Make us wise about spiritual things and direct us to vote for leaders who will put liberty in the hands of self-governing people. We want to please you and honor you above all. Show us your kindness that we might extend that kindness to others as we come to know you better and better.

Early morning insight: The Lord gave Ruth insight into the power of discernment early the morning of the prayer walk.
Jesus entered the temple area and overturned the tables of the money changers. (Matthew 21:12-17)
The next day, Jesus headed back to the temple and saw the fig tree (Matthew 21:18-22). Jesus saw a fig tree with leaves which meant there should be fruit. When he saw there was no fruit, He curse the fig tree at the root, and it died. He then taught the disciples about discernment and fruit. Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
To understand the power of discernment, you must have a heart to put God first. John 5:19-20 “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him ever greater things than theses.”
Discernment is based on a love relationship between you as God’s kid. This allows true discernment to work uncluttered by wounds, experiences, and biases. Then God can release a gift of discernment that has power to tear down strongholds, set the captives free, and curse the roots of unfruitful distractions (Isaiah 61).
Why did Jesus really curse the fig tree? The day before he overturned the money changer tables and confronted the religious leaders about His authority. The fig tree was a sign that God was now bring judgment on fruitless religious and business activities. These religious and business activities looked like they were doing good. They appear as leaves on the fig tree. But they were not feeding God’s people. They were feeding their own egos and lining their own pockets. When Jesus curse the fig tree, He was cursing the root of good works that did not produce kingdom of God fruit that feeds God’s people. True discernment sees pass the good works and removes the disguises that hide true motives. True discernment has a power to bring life or death. It is used when God shows us what He is seeing and moves when He tells us to move.
This is the gift being released to Erie. Rejoice but stay humble. Ruth Steel
ECBLA prayer call: In the following Wednesday ECBLA zoom prayer call, Holly recapped this devotion on discernment. She added insight from an article published in Ligonier Ministries. “There is more to discernment that distinguishing the right from the wrong; it means distinguishing the primary from the secondary, the essential from the indifferent, and the permanent from the transient…. The good and the better, the better and the best.”
Yes, it is given to some in unusual measure (I Corinthians 12:10), but even the gift must be constantly nourished and developed. This is why Psalm 119:66 says, “teach me good judgement and knowledge.”
This word also means “taste”. It is the ability to make discriminating judgments, to distinguish between, and recognize the moral implications of, different situations and coursed of action. Thus, while warning us against judgementalism, Jesus urges us to be discerning and discriminating, lest we cast our pearls before pigs (Matthew 7:1,6).
More wisdom: Pastor Mock was on the call and shared that he had recently studied about and delivered a sermon on Number 13. The story of the 10 spies who checked out the promised land. The spies had different discernment about the things they saw. 8 of the 10 had fear of the things they observed in nature and discerned they were “grasshoppers in our own sight and so we were in their sight.” Joshua and Caleb saw the same things in the natural but discerned differently.
If discernment is a gift, why do we have to learn it? Even a gift has to be unpacked (II Peter 1). We must develop the gift of discernment.
Psalm 119:125 “I am your servant; give me discernment.”

Prayer points for 12/12/2020 prayer walk at site of FLB in Waterford.
Father God we come humbly before you, the King of Kings (Isaiah 66:2). As the ecclesia, we make our appeal to the courts of heaven, to the Lord our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6). We remember in your word how you taught Isaiah to pray. “You who bring good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid, say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God” (Isaiah 40:9).
Lord, we lift our voices in an appeal to heaven from this significant place, acknowledging that You were here first! The earth is the Lord’s and everything on it, the world and all who live in it (Psalm 24:1).
Repentance:
God knew early Americans would steal land from the First Peoples, He knew we would bring other nations to our shores and enslave them. He knew we would sacrifice children, undermine the sanctity of marriage and confuse biological gender. But He established this country anyway (Dutch Sheets).
Forgive us Lord for the evil things your people have done – forsaken God and built for themselves broken cisterns (Jeremiah 2:13). As in Nehemiah’s day, forgive us for letting God’s house sit in ruins while we built paneled walls for ourselves. Forgive us for not allowing the land to rest.
Forgive us Lord, we repent of unjust anger, we seek your justice and mercy. “And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other’” (Zechariah 7:8-10).
Circumcise our hearts Lord that we might love you. Cut away the carnal nature that we might reproduce the works of God not flesh. We cast off rotten garments of ager, hatred, contempt, cursing. In a circumcised life with you; nationality, race, education, politics or social position is unimportant (Colossians 3:8). We declare we will follow you with our whole heart and pick up nothing that would limit you from giving our city, state and nation your blessing (Psalm 78:41).

Prayer for government:
We pray for our governmental leaders, that you would increase the power of good men & women, and usurp the strength of evil men (Ps 75:10). As removing dross from silver, to have sterling, remove corrupt men from positions of authority that our civic rulers will be just and fair (Proverbs 25:5). We pray you would shower blessings on those who identify and rebuke sin fearlessly (Proverbs 24:25).
We decree lying, irrational spirits spreading false narratives will be stopped (I Kings 1:1-16). We understand this is a spiritual battle against kings and kingdoms, rulers and authorities (Colossians 1:16). We speak against witchcraft and twisted words. You have given the gift of discernment and we know how to use it. Your voice, Lord, shatters the enemy (Isaiah 30:31). We raise up righteous weapons to fight. Not carnal weapons but spiritual weapons, mighty in battle.
All government rests on Jesus Christs’ shoulders, we call in Kingdom people to take their places of influence on every domain in society. We bind fear and intimidation and release revelatory boldness. We say, RISE UP! We see clear, fresh water rising up from old wells. We bless Jesus, the chief cornerstone and capstone of all government.
Prayer for pandemic:
Chuck Pierce says, “Viruses are like demons! They must have a host that they can control; they then create fear, immobilize the host, and monopolize time and resources.”
We decree Psalm 83:13-18, to blow away your enemies like whirling dust; like chaff before the wind! No more fear! No more shut downs! Health will be restored. Small businesses driving the American economy will recover. Health care workers will be revitalized. Families will thrive. We call forth witty inventions and declare the trauma brought on by this pandemic be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. We declare the Lord will bring us out of this to bring us up to new levels of provision as you did with the widow’s pitcher.
Redemption:
Here’s another interesting parallel to our prayers that day. Esther 9:1 says, “On the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, the edict commanded by the king was to be carried out.”
In Esther’s day, the calendar was constructed around the cycles of the moon, a lunar calendar. This doesn’t line up with the Greek calendar we use today. However, the dates caught my attention! On this particular day the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but now the tables were turned and the Jews got the upper hand over those who hated them. Hear our prayer Oh God and, turn the tables. Hang Haman type actions on its own gallows of judgment. We do not rejoice when our enemy meets trouble (Proverbs 24:17-18), rather, we humbly ask for mercy.
We call in your lost sheep. We pray for families to open new doors of opportunity to love on each other. We pray for Silicon Valley and the fruit that land is designed to produce. May it be for Kingdom purposes. We petition you Lord to swallow your enemy and restore the land.
Declared with a shout (three times), “JESUS CHRIST’S KINGDOM IS HERE!”
We declare, as you give us the land, we will be on guard and not asleep. Those of us who live in the light will keep sober, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the happy hope of salvation. For God has chosen to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ who died for us so that we can live with him forever. Always joyful, we will keep on praying and being thankful no matter what happens. Always welcoming the ministry of Holy Spirit and nurturing the fruit of the spirit (I Thessalonians 5:6-9, 16-19). Then everyone will be praising the name of the Lord Jesus Christ because of the results they see in us; our city, state and nation’s greatest glory will be that we belong to him (II Thessalonians 1:12)!
Another prophetic act:
“The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So, they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken (II Kings 2:19-22).”
As a prophetic act the Lord had us pour salt into LeBoeuf Creek. Decreeing an end to aborted purposes, miscarriage of justice and barren land. These waters flow all the way to Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. Carry the word of the Lord all through this nation!

Read straight through these scriptures for hidden things to be revealed:
Isaiah 29:15 Woe to you who think you can hide your plan from the Lord Yahweh. Ha! Do you actually think your secret schemes are so hidden that you say, ‘Who sees us doing this? No one knows what we’re doing!’
Mark 4:22 For there is nothing that is hidden that won’t be disclosed, and there is no secret that won’t be brought out into the light!
Luke 12:2 Everything hidden and covered up will soon be exposed. For the facade is falling down, and nothing will be kept secret for long.
1 Corinthians 4:5 So resist the temptation to pronounce premature judgment on anything before the appointed time when all will be fully revealed. Instead, wait until the Lord makes his appearance, for he will bring all that is hidden in darkness to light and unveil every secret motive of everyone’s heart. Then, when the whole truth is known, each will receive praise from God.
2 Corinthians 1:12We rejoice in saying with complete honesty and a clear conscience that God has empowered us to conduct ourselves in a holy manner and with no hidden agenda. God’s marvelous grace enables us to minister to everyone with pure motives, not in the clever wisdom of the world. This is especially true in all of our dealings with you.
