National Day of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer (NDOP) was established by an Act of Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman in 1952. The national observance represents a Judeo/Christian expression, based on our understanding that the United States of America was birthed by the blood and prayers of our early leaders. This country has had a destiny as a beacon of hope to the world, a holy experiment of a people living freely to pursue their individual dreams without the restrictions of an oppressive government, but under the restraining influence of a loving God. – Stephanie Lindenberger Erie NDOP Chair
The NDOP is held across the country on the first Thursday of May, and Erie has participated since the 1990’s. Please feel free to scroll down and, remembering God’s goodness to Erie, click on the prayer links and “pray continually” as encouraged in I Thessalonians 5:16-18!
